Ludo Goti: Significance, Techniques, and Hacks
Ludo Goti is the most significant element of the Ludo game. Each player gets four tokens, also commonly called Gotis. When a player rolls the dice, the value on the dice is the number of boxes the Goti needs to move. Whichever player reaches home first with all gotis Wins.
This information will be equally informative for beginners and seasonal players as you will learn all aspects, significance, techniques, strategies, and tricks to move your gotis from start to finish tactfully.
What is Ludo Goti?
Ludo Goti, also called goti king in Ludo, is the decisive factor in a player’s position in the game. In classic and most online Ludo versions, players wait for a six on the dice roll to start. In fast versions of online ludo games, this rule is often removed. Ludo goti in English is called Token; each player gets tokens of the same colour and must take them all home before other players. Ludo is a strategical and skill-based game that leaves little room for luck.
In online versions, the luck part becomes non-existent as all opponents are given the same dice values at different game points. However, luck plays a vital role in the offline board game as the dice rolls carry the game. This difference makes Goti a more powerful element in the Online Ludo Game.
Types of Gotis in Ludo
Typically, all Ludo Boards have Four colours: Red, green, yellow, and blue. And each colour box carries four gotis of the same colour. Players can choose their side of the Board containing the same coloured gotis.
In most online versions, the shape of the Goti differs from the classic cone-shaped version. Sometimes, the online game gives animation options and mini characters. There is no possible outcome of these on the results of the game. They are just a fun component to the game.
Follow Goti Rules and Win Big Cash
Ludo Goti’s rules are simple yet need strategy and practice to comprehend fully. Each goti starts its journey on the Board with a six roll on the dice; otherwise, it stays out. This applies to classic and most online versions of Ludo.
After starting moving the Board, the player has multiple options to choose from. Either they play safe and try to jump from safe spot to safe spot. In Ludo, safe spots are the coloured boxes that come after 7 or 4 open boxes. Or the player can risk their goti and move aggressively towards the home. Here are some goti rules to follow while playing Ludo:
Moving Strategy for Goti
After rolling a six on dice, the goti starts moving on the Board. The player of that goti now makes many significant decisions regarding the movement. The player decides which to move if there is more than one goti on the Board.
The player only gets to move one goti for each dice roll. For example, if the roll says 5, the player can only move one goti forward five boxes. They can not divide that number and move two gotis at a time unless the player rolls more than one dice (that usually happens after rolling a 6, reaching home, or cutting the opponent’s Token).
Players can make a run for home while eliminating other players, risking their tokens, or playing defensively and moving safely behind opponents.
Goti Elimination
When a player lands on the box where the opponent’s goti is already sitting, the opponent’s goti gets cut/eliminated (unless it is a safe spot). Cutting an opponent’s Token is essential to ludo gaming as it asserts powers, derails the opponent’s strategy, and weakens their position on the Board.
In some versions of Online Ludo Game, the token/goti carries points depending on its position on the Board; cutting that Token takes all those points from that goti’s owner and gives them to the cutter.
Safe Spots
Safe spots are the safe zones distributed on the ludo board to stabilize the pressure buildup. These spots are coloured boxed after every 7 or 4 open boxes. There are five safe boxes just before the home point called the home zone. When a player lands on these boxes, their goti gets secured, and no other player can cut that goti.
Taking Goti Home
Home is the path of the five coloured boxes right next to the start point of each player. This home area is a safe zone of the same colour as the player’s goti. When a player’s goti reaches their home zone, they have crucial decisions to make.
The player must get an exact number of coloured boxes+1 on the dice to reach home. Or they can enter the safe zone with a smaller number and proceed accordingly. Players can not enter the home zone that is bigger than the required number.
Strategic Gameplay
Ludo gaming is a game of strategy, skill, and quick thinking. A good player has all these qualities, but practice and commitment make a champion different from a good player. There are many ways you can become a pro ludo gamer. Following are the ways to keep in mind before playing the game next time:
Start Aggressively
Try to land as many six as possible and use them wisely. Take all tokens out on the Board and start as quickly as possible. Try to spread all tokens around the Board in safe spots. This way, all gotis are in the game and earning points on the Board. This strategy keeps your game strong as if one of these gotis gets cut by the opponent, and you can immediately shift your energy to the other three gotis rather than take the pressure of losing the one gotis you have put all your efforts on.
Utilize Safe Spot to the Maximum
When all your goti are moving on the Board, you must know all the gotis and their positions. This means all your gotis should be safe from the opponent’s attack. There are only two ways to achieve that. One is to stay behind the opponent’s Token. This way halts your progress. The second and proven successful technique is to try and jump from safe box to safe box, leaving little to no chance for the opponent to cut you.
Choose your Goti
Like Choosing your battles in life, Choosing Goti in Ludo is also a vital rule. All Gotis in Ludo develop a hierarchy of importance as the game progresses. Meaning some gotis are more valuable than others. Either it’s near the home or poses more of a chance to cut the opponent’s Gotis. Protect them even if you have to risk other gotis.
Flight or Fight
It’s your call to choose flight or fight response in Ludo. If you think cutting your opponent won’t put you in a dangerous position, go for it. If cutting others risks your goti, re-evaluate profit from that move. Choose that path if the gain is significantly higher than the loss. Ludo does not have a black-and-white path of playing, quick actions according to the situation make this game fun.
Block the Opponent; Keep Dominating.
Giving opponents free roaming around and focusing just on running towards home can be a losing strategy in Ludo gaming. Keeping opponents controlled by blocking their way with your Gotis in safe spots is one of the most proven winning techniques. This technique annoys the opponent, resulting in rash decisions that hasten your winning.
Spread and Block
Blocking with more than one goti in the same place yields less benefit than blocking with a single goti in the safe spot and spreading this way around the Board with other gotis. This asserts dominance on the entire Board and constantly keeps opponents on the lookout.
DON'TS of navigating Ludo Goti
There are no clear-cut rules to win the Ludo game every time, but specific techniques increase your chances of winning, as listed above. On the contrary, inevitable mistakes can become your reason for loss in Ludo. Ludo Goti plays a more significant role in determining the outcome. Here is a list of don’ts for navigating Ludo Goti on the Board.
Focusing too much on your Goti
Focusing on your gotis and taking them home is the motive but running fast and not assessing the opponent’s techniques may cause a more significant loss than expected. They say ‘Keep Enemies Close,’ which also applies directly to Ludo gaming. Keep one eye on your opponent’s Gotis, learn, and replicate their technique to win quicker and more efficiently.
Don’t take too long
In online Ludo gaming, time is one of the deciding factors. If the opponent’s tokens are in a difficult position and struggling to make safe moves, this is your chance. Make quick moves and rush the opponent into making rash decisions. Use their wrong choices to your advantage and cut their Token.
Don’t rely on only 1 technique.
Mix the techniques mentioned above and navigate your Ludo Goti accordingly. Relying on just one method, like trying to cut opponents and focusing all your turns on, may be ineffective. Cutting the opponent with some gotis and gradually moving toward home with others while blocking the opponent may be a solid Hybrid approach to winning.
Goti in Online Ludo Gaming
We offer 4 different online Ludo Gaming options for Ludo enthusiasts. All 4 versions follow the same basic rules but differ in certain areas. The four versions of the online Zupee Ludo Game are; Ludo Supreme, Ludo Ninja, Ludo Turbo, and Ludo Supreme League. Here are some of the key similarities and differences:
Version | Ludo Supreme | Ludo Ninja | Ludo Turbo | Ludo Supreme League |
Time Limit | 10 Minutes | 6 Minutes | 6 Minutes | 10 Minutes |
Move Limit | No Limit | 23 Moves | 30 Moves | 36 Moves |
Move Time Limit | 10 Seconds | 10 Seconds | 10 Seconds | 15 Seconds |
Time Bank | NA | 30 Seconds | 30 Seconds | 60 Seconds |
Apart from these, some rules differ from the classic Ludo board game. Players do not have to wait for a 6 number on dice to enter their goti. All Gotis are good to go from the very start.
There is also a Point System in the Online Ludo Game that differs from the classic Ludo. On each step (box), the goti earns a point. On reaching home, the goti receives an extra 56 points on top of all the points accumulated till that point. In some versions, the player loses points on the goti if that goti gets eliminated by other players.
Ludo rules for double goti at the same spot are the same for the classic and online versions. If a player gets two of their gotis stacked in the same place in Ludo in an unsafe zone, their stack gets safe from opponents’ gotis unless the player moves one goti.
